BassetPro is a well established system from SageData, used for Asset Tracking
and similar applications. It has run on a variety of platforms from several
manufacturers.
Psion Teklogix have recently released a new hand held computer, model 7535.
This is an advanced and rugged hand held unit running Windows CE as an operating
system. It is wireless capable, with 802.11b and Bluetooth available today,
and 1X wide area capability to be released shortly. The unit features a full
keyboard and touch sensitive screen. An integrated barcode reader can handle
all the major barcode symbologies
SageData have released a variant of the BassetPro hand held software to run
on this machine. Currently this application runs in batch mode, we expect
802.11 connectivity, for real time applications, to follow shortly.
Benefits of this system include extreme ruggedness, long battery life and
excellent ergonomics.
All features of the BassetPro mobile element are functional on this platform.
